The story we shared last month about Jill* has received a huge amount of positive comments from our patients and community, and our team have been delighted to read the kind responses. See one of them here.
The story we shared last month about Jill* has received a huge amount of positive comments from our patients and community, and our team have been delighted to read the kind responses.
In her 20’s Jill had been subjected to an unnecessary teeth extraction procedure in a traumatic case of malpractice at the hands of an alcoholic dentist. We worked slowly with her to rebuild her confidence and restore her faith in the dentistry industry. Jill has now been with us for twenty years and travels 2.5 hours each way to attend every visit.
We’re delighted to say that after reading Jill’s story, another of our patients, Phil*, was moved to get in touch. Phil owns a portrait photography business and is passionate about projects which capture our ‘essence’. Many of his works are created to restore his subjects’ confidence, and after he read about Jill’s journey to rebuild her own he was touched enough by her tale to reach out. He’s generously offered Jill vouchers to cover a photography sitting and a framed copy of her favourite portrait from the shoot.
Phil has kindly shared his own story and history at the practice for our readers. He has always lacked confidence in his own smile but often gets feedback from his clients who tell him that they love his smile and how happy he is. One of the reasons Jill’s story resonated so strongly with Phil is because he realised that often people look at themselves differently than how their friends or colleagues may perceive them.
Phil has been a patient of Bite for many years and, although he occasionally considered upgrading his smile, was always happy to simply maintain his healthy teeth. Reading Jill’s story, however, inspired Phil – and I’m delighted to say he’s decided to undertake his own smile treatment. We’ll be working with him to replace his old restorations and enhance the symmetry to give him a bold, new smile.
The team at Bite is going to be working closely with Phil to produce some stunning before-and-after portraits for patients, and as soon as we are allowed back we will be upgrading his smile. We’ll be following his story closely in the near future, so look out for updates here on our blog.
This treatment, inspired by Jill’s own story, is testament to show how our stories affect one another. At Bite Dentistry, we’re passionate about our community. Hearing how our treatments have improved our patient’s lives is a rewarding experience and we’d love to hear from you. If you have a story you’d like to share with us – a happy memory, or a treatment that has changed your life – then reach out and share it with us today.
We’d also like to update you on the reopening of Bite Dentistry. The team have been working tirelessly in partnership with colleagues across many other UK organisations, creating a comprehensive plan for the reopening of practices. We are hopeful that we will be able to resume services, at least for urgent and emergency care, by mid June. Announcements for this reopening will be made across Social Media and on our website closer to the time.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our patients for supporting us through this crisis and continuing to pay their Denplan subscriptions, which have kept us afloat. We will be working longer hours on our return to make up for these lost weeks and accommodate all of our patients needs. We’re missing hearing the news and stories of our clients and we look forward to welcoming you all back to Bite dentistry as soon as it’s safe.
