  • Do I Need a Dental Crown? The Telltale Signs

Are you unhappy with your smile? With dental crowns, it is now easier than ever to get that perfect smile you’ve been dreaming about. Dental crowns are the newest cutting edge technology to transform any teeth, from the shape to the colour, giving you a smile to be proud of.

What is a Dental Crown?

Dental Crowns are the perfect solution to restore teeth that need that extra bit of tlc, and can be used to improve both cosmetic and tooth health. Whether your teeth have been damaged through decay or an accident, crowns may be the solution you're looking for.

When fitting a dental crown, a type of cap is placed to cover the tooth. The finish can depend on which crown you chose, however with bite dentistry, the porcelain dental crowns are colour matched to suit your vision.

How does it work?

Dentist crowns can now be done quicker than ever, taking little time out of your busy day, perfect if you don’t have the time to spend days at the dentist getting procedures done.

Within two hours at Bite Dentistry, permanent crowns can be made using new Cerc technology. Your new teeth will be designed, created and fitted within one single appointment. The crowns are then colour matched and shaped in line with the vision you have for your smile. To fit the crown, your dentist will file your existing teeth and attach your new crown over the top.

When do I need a Dental Crown?

Not sure when you are in need of a dental crown or what treatment is right for you? There are a few questions you can ask yourself to conclude when you may need a dental crown.

Do I want to enhance my smile cosmetically?

If so, dental crowns could be exactly what you’re looking for. An easy fix to discoloured or damaged teeth, crowns will fix any cosmetic problems you may have, helping to create your perfect smile. By fixing a cap over the tooth, dentists can eliminate any cracks, chips or discolouration to your teeth and instead leave you with a perfectly smooth tooth.

Do I need a dental crown to help with my oral hygiene?

Adding a dental cap can also help with any oral hygiene problems you may be facing. When a tooth is damaged by decay, you may often find it is not strong enough to be supported by fillings, this is where a dental crown would come in.

Root canal procedures can also call for dental crowns to be fitted to protect what is left of the tooth, so this may be something worth looking into to help preserve your teeth and overall oral hygiene.
